Thankful for Veterans

Every November 11, our nation comes together to remember and honor the service and sacrifices of our veterans. For me, it’s a time to reflect on and honor the heroic men and women of the Armed Forces, to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and to pay homage to those currently serving.

First, I would like to recognize a Dixie Electric employee who is also a veteran. Adorn Presley, a line foreman in Laurel, served with the Marines from 1993 until 1999. Military service instills a strong work ethic, loyalty, decisiveness, and a spirit of collaboration, which are also qualities that Adorn brings to his role at Dixie Electric. On behalf of our employees, directors, and members, I would like to thank Adorn for his service.

I would also like to thank those of our members who are veterans for their willingness to serve. Your service to our country is greatly appreciated, and we would like to honor your service by inviting you to stop by any Dixie Electric office on Friday, November 11, to receive a token of appreciation and gratitude on behalf of our membership.

At Dixie Electric, we pride ourselves on powering our communities, but it’s veterans who empower us. We are grateful for our veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country. Through their service, they have made an enormous contribution to our nation that we can never repay. To those in uniform serving today and those who have served in the past, we honor you today and every day.
