Mauldin Retires from The Board of Directors

Mack Mauldin began serving on the board in January 1994. During his service, he contributed to the improvement and growth of Dixie Electric through serving as vice-president and president for Dixie Electric, and as secretary on Cooperative Energy’s board of directors for 11 years.

Many major milestones occurred for Dixie Electric while Mauldin served on the board, such as Hurricane Katrina restoration, the building of the Petal office, the implementation of automated metering and the formation of DE Fast link, LLC.

“It has been a pleasure to serve Dixie Electric with Mr. Mack over the years,” said Dixie Electric Board President Robert Smith. “His knowledge and experience have been a great asset to Dixie Electric and its members. I would just like to say thank you for all your years of service.”

Mauldin and his wife, Johnnie, reside in the Springhill Community. Throughout his career, he was self-employed with his plumbing business, M & M Plumbing, as well as a poultry and cattle business.

In addition to serving on Dixie Electric’s board of directors, he serves as a board member in the Springhill Cemetery Association and is involved in the Jones County, state, and national Cattleman’s Association. He was also a member of the Mississippi Farm Bureau.

"Mack has helped guide Dixie Electric for nearly 28 years as a member of the board of directors," said General Manager Randy Smith. "He has seen and been a part of a lot of change both at Dixie Electric and Cooperative Energy. His leadership, integrity, and loyalty will be severely missed. For me personally, Mack has been a mentor and a friend who stood beside me and helped guide me as a new general manager through those early years. He has meant a lot to me over the last ten years."

Mauldin has four children, nine grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He officially retired from the Dixie Electric Board of Directors on October 23, 2021.
